Over time, dust, debris, moss and lichen, and bird droppings can accumulate on solar panels, which significantly decreases the panel's ability to absorb light from the sun. 

It is recommended to have your panels cleaned roughly once every 12 months. 

A solar health check is a comprehensive system report that details any important safety, or performance which includes: details of any relevant changes to the installation standards since the install date of your system, installation faults that may have occurred since installation, damage to panels or equipment (such as hail or environmental damage) outside of normal wear and tear, condition of wiring and enclosures and any other safety or performance issues, such as dust/dirt, or lichen build up on the surface of the panels.

Cleaning your panels combined with a Solar Health Check will ensure your system is maximising its energy production, as well as extending the life of the system every 12 months. 

In the ACT, it is an Evoenergy mandatory requirement to have your inverter tested every 5 years. Econ Energy will test your inverter and submit the results to Evoenergy on your behalf.
